Q: Can I bring you a picture of a cake that I like from another source?

A: Of Course! Cakes by Katie would love to see and hear any ideas that you have about your cake. We are always willing to copy a cake that you bring to us. Just remember each cake is unique and it is not reasonable to expect the cake to be an exact replica. As with any hand made art, each artist interprets images differently and has their own style.

Q: Do you deliver and setup the cake?

A: Katie herself, along with an assistant, deliver the cake to your reception site. Exact fees will be discussed during consultation depending on what area in Maryland the cake must be delivered. Katie personally delivers and sets up the cake on site to ensure the quality of the finished product and to be on hand for any last minute fixes or touchups the cake may need. Delivery is usually made approx. 1-2 hours before the beginning of the reception.

Q: What should I have at the consultation?

A: Yourself and any friends or family you might like to have a say in the cake. If you have seen any pictures of cakes that you liked, we would love to see them as well. Also have prepared any questions you may like to ask Katie, these are usually found in a Wedding Planner or also online. Katie will ask you for some basic information such as the reception site, date and time as well as the expected number of guests. Don’t forget your sweet tooth and a big glass of milk to go with the cake!
